• Bulk turnover is estimated at €1.2 billion in 2019. It is expected to triple by 2022. Organic stores still represent 45% of that, while the nearly 400 specialised stores (led by Day by day’s 59 stores) make up 5%. But general supermarkets have made so much progress in specific sectors that they now account for half of this market.

• With nearly €110 billion in turnover, the CPG market experienced its slowest growth in value (0.8%) for 15 years – and even, a decline in volume (-0.8%). Organic products are doing well, with a turnover of €5 billion (+18%), or 6% of the retail market. In addition, the Egalim Act, which limits the volumes that can be sold at a discount, impacted several markets, including champagnes (-19.5%) and foie gras (-14.2%).
