• The turnover of organic products in supermarkets increased by 20.5% and the supply by 29.3% over the first 6 months of 2019. (Biolinéaires.IRI). Organic products represent:
o 9.6% of the total and 5% of the turnover of hypermarkets
o 7.9% of the total and 5.9% of the turnover of supermarkets
o 10% of the total and 9.4% of the turnover of drive-through
o 6.5% of the total and 5.8% of the turnover of convenience stores

• The tomato sauces market reached €491 million (+4.1%) (points of sale / IRI)

• The consumption of fresh meat purchased from a butcher decreased by 3% in volume in 2018 to reach 784,789 T (Linéaires/FranceAgrimer). Butchers’ counters in supermarkets (-1.4% in volume) are doing better than artisanal butchers ((- 7.8%) and have even increased their market share by 1.7%, to 73.4% of sales.

• According to Xerfi, the private label brand market reached €31.3 billion in France, for a market share of 32.7% of supermarkets. Xerfi estimates that this market share should grow by 2% per year, to €32.5 billion in 2021. Classic private label brands represent 85% of turnover, far ahead of themed private label brands (10%) and low-cost private label brands (5%), which are in free fall.
• The world wine market reached €165.8 billion, including €3.3 billion for organic wine.
